I have searched on the internet and cannot find a definitive answer to the above. Your help is appreciated!
According to the royal doulton web site under care and use- pieces with gold or platinum are not microwave safe. BTW-Simply Platinum looks like a nice set.

2010 Feb 13 2I would not put Royal Doulton in a microwave. It’s too good for it.
